Bunny Melody Vs. The Slaves of Kane

On 18th August 2003 WAB Records put on general release the long-awaited CD single "Montego Bay" by reggae's latest sensation Bunny Melody, in collaboration with The Slaves Of Kane. The single is a timely reminder to music lovers that producers are still making music for the dance floor and comes amid a barrage of excitement over the work of both artists. It features three different, distinct mixes: the Radio Edit, the Extended Mix, and the Back to the 70's Disco Fever Mix of the Bobby Bloom classic "Montego Bay". This hugely popular tune is given today's dance treatment with no compromises, combining the influences of The Great Lord Kane with the distinctive vocal talents of Jamaican reggae artist Bunny Melody.

While Melody is well known on the reggae scene Kane is no stranger to making big dance tunes. He started with a crew of talented and dedicated musicians in 1994 (RAY (Boyzone/B*Witched) Hedges is a past Slave's associate) and by 1999 had a massive club hit in the USA with the remix of their 1995 NRG/Rock crossover "Nothing But Promises" featuring Australian high energy diva Kelli Wilde and produced by HEDGES. But part of Kane's greatness is the range of his collaborations. He is responsible for the classic cover of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides" Now featuring Israeli vocalist Hadar Manor. Others he's mixed, produced or collaborated with include Simon Woodgate on the "The Lone Ranger" House hit of 1996; Leila Jai, Hyperdrive; Belgian diva Inge Van Hendryck; River dance's Anne Buckley, and a bizarre puppet act called Fluff 'N' Stuff. It is this great wealth of international sensibilities Kane brings to this collaboration with Bunny Melody.

Melody himself has had nothing short of a meteoric rise in reggae. He followed the release of his debut album True To You in 1998 with some massive tunes, most notably, "Everything I Own", "Lonely Girl" and "Love To Want". He has appeared on Sky TV, Meridian TV, Carlton TV's The Warehouse, as well as endlessly touring Europe with his band. Melody is also a favourite of the UK carnival scene and although he appears at festivals all over the country he makes a point of performing at his local Dartford Festival and Bromley Carnival regularly. This latest album Friends is packed with fantastic demonstrations of Bunny's brilliance.
